After Care

Please follow the Pre & Post Care Instructions found below. It is important to follow these instructions for the best possible healing results. Failure to comply can alter your results and could cause damage to skin.

Allow freshly feathered eyebrows seven to ten days to heal. It is normal for the eyebrows to look patchy during the healing process. Do not be worried if the strokes have disappeared, it takes the pigment roughly 4 weeks to resurface.

MICROBLADING POST-CARE:

Hands must always thoroughly washed before touching brows or applying post care maintenance during the healing process.

For the first day ONLY starting 30 minutes after initial procedure you must cleanse each brow gently, being careful not to stretch, pull or rub hard. Use Phi Wipes provided by artist to cleanse skin and remove lymph. Then apply a VERY thin layer of Skin Candy provided by artist. Allow eyebrows to completely dry before applying Skin Candy.  Repeat this process 3 to 5 times a day to keep wound clean and to avoid scab formation.

  • For the next 6 days apply Skin Candy provided by artist.
  • For the next 10 days: AVOID getting eyebrows wet.
  • For dry to normal skin, you will apply a VERY thin layer of the Skin Candy 3 to 5, times a day, NO MORE.
  • For Combo to Oily skin, you will apply a VERY thin layer of the Skin Candy 1 to 2, times a day. NO MORE.
  • You will use a clean Q-tip to dip into the Skin Candy. Use one side for each brow being careful not to cross contaminate. Dispose of used Q-tips. DO NOT reuse.
  • About 2 to 7 days into the healing process, you will notice the brows get darker. It is a normal part of the healing process, and brows will lighten as it nears the end of healing the process.
  • You will lose about 30% percent of pigment. This is also normal and this is why a touch up 4 to 6 weeks is necessary.
  • You may see skin peeling or flaking, this is a normal part of the healing process. DO NOT PICK!
  • DO NOT rub, pull, peel, pick or scratch the treated area. This can damage the skin, cause scarring, infection, and alter healing results. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally fall off.
  • AVOID direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 6 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and could cause hyper-pigmentation and scarring.
  • Avoid pools, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for a month.
  • Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.
  • Try to avoid sleeping on your face/brows for the first 10 days.
  •  Keep your bangs and hair pulled back from your face for the first 10 days.
  • NO makeup or skincare products on the treated area for 10 days.
  • NO facials, chemical peels, fruit acids, solarium, light therapies and microdermabrasions for a month.
  • NO Botox for 6 weeks. We recommend that it is best to wait until after your touch-up heals before getting Botox.
  • After 14 days, once the area has healed completely, consider using sunblock when going out in the sun to help reduce the pigment from fading.
  • NO hot steamy showers, or saunas for a month. Avoid getting brows wet during your time in the shower
  • Only use products provided by artist, during the healing process.
  • DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing
  • DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum-based products while healing.
  • DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.
  • AVOID Retina-A, Chemical Peels and Microderms around the brow area once healed.
  • ALWAYS avoid laser treatments over the treated area (Fraxel Laser, IPL), because they can destroy the pigment and cause burns.

Note: Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading.

IMPORTANT:

In the event you develop a skin infection at the treated area or an allergic reaction develops, and or injury occurs. Please seek medical attention from a physician. In the event of an emergency, seek medical attention immediately. After seeking medical attention, Please report to Angelica Quezada at Sassy Brows and Ink LLC.  Call 1-847-379-1248.
